PM Kusum Yojana 2022
The state government has set a goal of converting 17.5 lakh diesel pumps and 3 crore agriculturally useful pumps to solar pumps over the next ten years under this program. Objectives of PM Kusum Yojana
The major goal of the Rajasthan Kusum Yojana is to give farmers solar-powered solar pumps for irrigation. The central government and the Rajasthan state government will convert 3 crore petrol and diesel irrigation pumps into solar energy pumps under this scheme. Farmers in the country who use diesel or petrol to power irrigation pumps will now be able to use solar energy as part of the Kusum Scheme 2022. In the first phase of this project, solar panels would be used to power 1.75 lakh fuel and petrol stations around the country. Farmers, farmer organizations, panchayats, and co-operative societies can apply for a solar pump under the PM KUSUM Yojana.
The overall cost of this scheme is broken down into three areas, each of which the government will assist farmers with. Farmers will receive a 60 percent subsidy from the government, with the government covering 30% of the cost through loans. Components of PM Kusum Yojana
PM Kusum Yojana 2022 is made up of three parts which are as follows:
Component A
- Farmers, cooperatives, farmer organizations, panchayats, Water User Associations (WUA), and Farmer Producer Organizations will construct these networks (FPO)
- Workers will build 10,000 MW of grid-connected decentralized renewable energy power plants on barren land under this concept.
- Within a 5-kilometer radius of the substation, power projects will be built.
Component B
- The pumps will have a capacity of up to 7.5 HP and will be used to replace existing diesel agriculture pumps.
- Farmers would be helped to install stand-alone solar agriculture pumps worth Rs. 17.50 lakh under this scheme.
- Although the capacity can be greater than 7.5 HP, financial assistance will only be granted until the capacity reaches 7.5 HP.
Component C
- Extrasolar power will be sold to India’s distribution companies (DISCOMs) at a pre-determined price.
- This scheme aims to solarize 10 lakh grid-connected agriculture pumps, with individual farmers receiving assistance to solarize pumps that are already linked to the grid.
- Solar energy will be used to meet the irrigation needs of farmers.

- Banks would provide farmers with a 30 percent loan under the Kusum Yojana.

- Farmers will receive a subsidy of 60% of the total cost of the solar pumps from the government.
- 623 Rajasthan farmers will generate 722 MW of solar power under the Central Government’s Kusum Yojana.
- Farmers can establish solar power plants ranging from 0.5 to 2 MW capacity on their own unusable or wastelands under this initiative, which can produce solar energy by setting up solar plants in barren and useless land.
- The cost of energy distribution for distribution corporations will be reduced, as will the cost of system growth.
